ENG202   ESP for Industrial Engineering                               

This course aims to provide strategies and practice in reading, writing, and research skills, which will help Industrial Engineering sophomores prepare for the academic demands of the disciplines (Scientific Management, Operations Research, Decision Making) they study. To help students develop competency and confidence needed for academic environments, the ENG 202 provides content-based instruction and makes extensive use of text analysis to improve students’ writing and reading skills, resulting in their increased level of English proficiency. The course materials to be covered during the semester will include tasks for handling direct quotations, paraphrasing strategies, summarizing methods with a special emphasis on the conventions for citation and  referencing styles (APA,  mostly). As a requirement of the course, students are also expected to deliver an oral presentation based on the research paper they will have produced by the end of the term.
